Terms of Service
These terms set out the rules for using The Mathematics Continuum. We have written them to be as clear as we can — please read them so you know what to expect from us, and what we expect from you.
01Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Mathematics Continuum (“The Continuum”, “we”, “us”), including our website, learning platform, and content. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
02Eligibility and accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must consent to and accept these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
03Subscriptions and payment
Certain features require a paid subscription. By subscribing you authorise us (and our payment partners) to charge the applicable fees. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Fees are quoted in South African Rand and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
04Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share, resell, or sublicense your account or our content without authorisation.
- Copy, scrape, or redistribute our materials except as expressly permitted.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
05Intellectual property
All curriculum, lessons, problems, software, branding, and other materials on the platform are owned by The Continuum or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the content for your own learning. All other rights are reserved.
06Your content
You retain ownership of any work or submissions you create on the platform. By submitting them, you grant us a limited licence to host, display, and process that content solely to provide and improve the service — for example, to mark your work and report on your progress.
07Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the service available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
08Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, The Continuum is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.
09Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that may cause harm to us or other users. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end.
10Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. For questions about these Terms, email hello@getcontinuum.co.za.
