Algebra Suite

The answer isn't enough. See every step.

South Africa's most comprehensive free algebra tool. Every solution shows the full CAPS exam method — the exact sequence of steps an NSC examiner awards marks for. Five modules covering the complete Grade 8–12 algebra curriculum.

What's included

Six modules. Full curriculum.

Equation Solver

Gr 8–12

Linear, quadratic (factorisation, complete the square, quadratic formula), and non-conventional quadratics (exponential, trigonometric, higher-power, expression substitution).

Nature of Roots

Gr 10–12

Automatically analyses the discriminant Δ = b² − 4ac, classifies roots, gives CAPS exam phrasing, and explains the graph interpretation.

Factoring Engine

Gr 9–12

Detects HCF, difference of squares, sum/difference of cubes, simple trinomials, splitting the middle term, and grouping.

Simultaneous Equations

Gr 10–12

Substitution and elimination methods. Handles linear×linear and linear×quadratic with up to 2 solution pairs.

Inequality Solver

Gr 11–12

Linear and quadratic inequalities with three solution notations and an inline number line diagram.

Expression Simplifier

Gr 8–12

Expand brackets, collect like terms, simplify algebraic fractions, and simplify surds with working shown.

Why CAPS step-by-step matters

The NSC and IEB marking rubric awards marks for each step, not just the final answer. A student who writes only “x = 3” scores zero. A student who shows standard form, coefficient identification, the factor pair, the split middle term, the zero product principle, and both solutions scores full marks.

The Algebra Suite is the only free South African tool that generates solutions in the exact format examiners expect — method name, algebraic transformation, and plain-English reasoning, step by step.
